Unable to play music on Enhanced CDs

Enhanced CDs contain CD Audio in one session, and Data in another session. This is a popular method of employing "copy protection" in commercial audio CDs. Atlantic/Warner Music seems to use it in their recent releases. Specifically, I have a CD from Shinedown that exhibits the bug.
Playing these discs in MPC-HC is impossible; "Open Disc" just reports "File not found" for example. It's also not possible to browse to the music file, because Explorer only sees the data session, containing "autorun.inf" and an executable like "openme.exe", no CDA (CD-DA) files.
Sadly, using Windows Media Player 10, the music can be played just fine.
Using Rhythmbox on Ubuntu (just to provide another point-of-reference) the music can be played perfectly, as well.
